A moment of contentment

Hi, Everyone.

Finally, I planted all the seedlings.

The cantaloupes and honeydew seeds germinated this year.

So, I’m looking forward to eating them if they survive.

I don’t really like doing gardening.

(Yes, “Japanese are good at gardening” is a stereotype.)

but I love sitting under the cherry tree in my yard,

listening to the birds singing, and feeling the breeze on

my cheek, and writing my blog in my bare feet.

I think this is such a luxurious time for me.

It is a moment of contentment.

I love the energy of trees rather than water.

So, I’m really grateful that I can live here.

Living in the mountains, lots of different birds visit me.

I saw this bird the other day.

Rock Pegion

I thought I saw this bird when I was in Japan, but I saw this bird for the very first time here.

It’s called “Rock Pigeon”. It is 33 cm tall, and a wingspan of 71cm.

This Pigeon has red eyes and white eyelids, and she tilted her head a little and looked at me through the window. When she blinked, she looked sexy and pretty at the same time.

There was another pigeon that I saw a few years ago.

It’s called “Band-Tailed Pigeon” and, this one is 36 cm tall.

He doesn’t like the newcomers, so he appeared suddenly from the bottom. He used “scare tactics” but, it didn’t work.

But the Blackbirds,

Brewer's blackbird

They didn’t care. They accepted the humongous pigeon as if they have nothing to be afraid of because the blackbirds are in the gang.

When I enjoy watching the birds, my cats make a weird sound and try to get the birds.

My cats are inside of the house, so there is no way that they can get to the birds but they keep making the noise.

Window Uriel

And probably the birds know this, so they come right in front of the window and tease my cats.

Then when I witnessed this, I couldn’t stop laughing.

I enjoy this chain reaction.

I hope you felt peace, even a little bit after reading my blog.

With gratitude.

Love and Peace

Keiko
